Small Sparks Start BiG Fires

I came to Madison, Wisconsin to relax and have a good time. My friend Sydney lives here and works for a technology company since graduating this past May. She is of the restless sort, like myself. She shared her dilemma with me and another friend as we walked along the beautiful Lake Manona.

“I know there is something next, I feel it. I have all these ideas but I do not know where to start… I’m just afraid of the spotlight…and the size of this getting out of control…”

Fear is a funny thing. Most people are afraid of failure. I’m finding the confident people that I deal with are afraid of overwhelming success.

Let me dispel this notion that success can gobble us alive. Let me dispel this feeling that what we are doing will be so big that we will fall under the weight of more than we can handle.

People are drawn to a cause that is going somewhere. People are dying to support something that matters.
Do not over think your goal, project, or idea. Just take the first step! “What is the first step?” you may ask. The first thing you can do to make the project real. Ship something into the world for them to see. Start simple and be consistent. As mentioned in my last post, set up deadlines to propel yourself forward to the next finish. Nothing matters more than the finish. Stay dedicated and work relentlessly to the finish.

The world is waiting.
Go on over and read her blog! So exciting to see another impresario on the rise! Follow her on twitter!
